This new class is to create a space for trained, high level actors, who want to go on a six week journey to connect more deeply with the craft they love and engage fully in their work. It’s about helping you find and identify and move through that which is cutting you off from your authentic craft. Auditioning, writing roles for yourself, and marketing are not the same as acting. All these things are creative, but what most actors love to do is act, to be fully engaged in a character, story, and experience. We might not have a current project that feels like it's fulfilling that need, or we might want a safe space to "fail" or explore deeper ways of working. This class is intended to allow people to unplug from the industry, from other people's expectations of them so that they can engage fully. The way I teach acting is more intuitive than methodical; it's about helping you find that which is cutting you off from yourself, from others, from your vulnerability or your joy. I will help you nurture, explore, and break through to your next level of potential. BEING IN your work begets work. Don't wait for the world to give you your art, create the experience for yourself.
Tools to be explored:
- deeper layers of listening
- how to honor where you are (in any moment) and make it useful for your work.
- how to honor your introvert.
- how to move from repression to expression.
- how to commit more fully to being in process.
*Sarah is a Master Teacher at Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop, where learning to fully embrace the moment will change your work, and change your life.

"Class was intense and great and beautiful and emotional for all involved! Sarah has an insane gift for identifying exactly how you are blocking yourself, holding yourself back, getting in your own way, and she is relentless in getting you past/over/under/through and/or around it. We had a remarkable group of people at all levels of acting experience, but all focused and dedicated and equally invested in everyone else’s journey, so we were all able to learn from each other as well as from Sarah’s genius guidance, and were all able to witness and support one another. It was great! I want it not to be over, so that would be nice, but on the other hand I think the concentrated immersion brought different gifts." - Carol Jacobanis
"Sarah's class was amazing! All of us walked out of there changed and wowed. It's the first time I have been 'in the zone', working from my own genuine authentic place that was pure unbridled, unthought-out me since my return to acting (after 19 years) 7 months ago. This is not my first acting class, (I have been committed to driving in from CT weekly for my training) but it's the first time that I had a teacher intuitively work from the inside out and not just shout out guideposts! It was powerful!" - Dana Bruton
"I am gobsmacked! It's been a long time since I felt this good and this authentic in my work. With Sarah's class I was able to get grounded and present in the craft and art of my work like never before. Sarah's class will better prepare me for the intensives I have scheduled in the Fall." - Ramona Floyd
"I wanted to send you a quick note about the 5 week scene study class I just took with Sarah Baskin. Sarah was amazing! I learned so much from her, both from watching her work with others and from the specific guidance and recommendations she gave me regarding my own work. It was incredible! I want to be able to bring my A game when I perform, and I can honestly say that Sarah has helped bring me closer to achieving that goal. I already signed up for her next class at AGR." - Stephanie Weppler
"I walked out of my first class with Sarah today renewed, restored, rejuvenated, and re-invented. I feel absolutely amazing. Words are inadequate right now as I am still processing the time spent with her and the other students in the class, but I will say that this will absolutely, without a shadow a doubt, be THE best acting class that I have taken or will ever take. Talk about transformative. She is incredible. She is endearing. She is one heck of a truly good person." - Rebecca Janisch
