A few weeks ago I took Rob’s class How to Audition for Independent Films. I learned 2 very important lessons which were the opposite of what we are to do for television. 1) Make BIG choices 2) Don’t be afraid to add to the character and to the written words. That very week I was invited to tape an audition for an Indie Film. One that had tremendous success in the short film genre ( they went to Sundance!). So, I took a chance...made big choices, added lines to a speech that helped to clarify what my character was trying to say and guess what happened? Yep, I booked the job. I NEVER would have had the confidence to do that had I not taken Rob’s class. I sincerely believe that everyone should have to take this class as it clearly demonstrates the different techniques between film and television auditions...which we all need to learn. Thank you so much! I am now part of an empowering project where women are heroes and that has partnered with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Here is a link to the film in which I now have a LEAD."
