Week One: Where you Act?
This session will be dedicated to breaking down a TV procedural script. Learn the formula for an hour long procedural and how to identify where your character belongs in the script and what purpose, big or small, they are serving. Gain inside knowledge on how to utilize the breakdown and find the inside scoop on disclosed projects or never before aired TV shows. Then we’ll work in front of a camera on pre-assigned co-star sides.
Week Two: Legal Jargon, Stat!
Use the knowledge gained from week one on pre-assigned guest star sides and work them in front of the camera. Learn to navigate medical and legal language while making it appear natural and smooth. Incorporate technique and your own personal touch to make a dynamic and memorable audition. We’ll end the class by putting your new tools to the test with “last minute” co-star sides assigned in the class.
Week Three: Blowing it Up!
The last week will be split into two parts. The first part will be dedicated to high action scenes, i.e., gun shots, slaps, fights. Find out how to use the space to make your audition authentic and believable without being distracting. The second part of class will be solidifying work on a previously selected scene or polishing up a new one to put on tape for personal showcasing use on your website or other actor profile sites.
