Week 22 - The First Move

Imagine you are sitting in a crowded restaurant surrounded by beautiful people. Imagine a beautiful human swoops over to your table, smiles charmingly at you, takes you by the hand and asks you if you would like to go out with them sometime..

Would you think in this scenario, that this person doesn’t want to be with you? Doesn’t want to get to know you?

Doesn’t like to have interest in you?

We have to remember the inspiration and creativity is ALWAYS making the first move! You were sitting in your apartment or riding the subway, minding your own business when all the sudden, swoop! In idea! From the great ether of creation a beautiful seed dropped into your lap — and you are still questioning if it likes you or not??????

We gotta build up some confidence people.
When someone asks you out...they want a relationship with you!

And here is the thing...
Inspiration and creativity is HOT. It is IN DEMAND! It can have anyone it wants. And it chose you.
Stop questioning.
Say yes.

In the words of our girl, Liz Gilbert, “why would your creativity not love you? It came to you didn’t it? It drew itself near. It worked itself into you, asking for your attention and devotion. It filled you with the desire to make and do interesting things. Creativity wanted a relationship with you! That must be for a reason right? Do you honestly believe that creativity went through all the trouble of breaking into your consciousness only because it wanted to kill you?”

We are not desperate teens waiting by the phone for our love of the week to call. We are not waiting on the outskirts of the sock hop to be asked to dance.
We are the apple of this inspiration’s eye and we have been chosen.
And it is constantly proving how much it loves us!

“Inspiration is trying to send me messages in every form it can — through dreams, through portents, through clues, through coincidences, through deja vu, through kismet, though surprising waves of attraction and reaction, through chills that run up my arms, through hair that stands up on the back of my neck, through the pleasure of something new and surprising, through stubborn ideas that keep me awake all night long... whatever works.”

Such a persistent lover.

We must honor this love with a new knowing.

We must be willing to collect evidence in support of a loving force that is always seducing and courting us, rather than one that is always alluding or evading us.

How often to we ask for something and then are convinced we didn’t receive it, yet if we look a little outside of our conditioning we will find we actually did just in a different form then we expected? And usually more magically. With more finesse. Because our lover is good like that...

We must create a new Mantra:

Creativity loves me as much as I love it. My work loves me as much as I love it. Inspiration loves me as much as I love it. Ease loves me as much as I love it.

The process loves me as much as I love it. Life loves me as much as I love it.

And now the responsibility shifts does it not?
Do you see now what the real work is?
The real work is to stop questioning and asking for proof of ITS love... But to grow your love SO BIG that it must match you.

Because that is the agreement.
You loves each other equally.

Let this be our mission. To love and to love so big.

To say to creativity...
Okay! I am going to see that YOU in fact made the first move. YOU love me so good.
I am going to now devote to loving you right back.
And better yet, I am going to up the ante!
I am going all in.

Let’s see what gets made now...
