Custom Sides by

HAVE YOU EVER FELT THE SIDES YOU WERE USING DIDN'T REALLY SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT?
Have you ever dreamed of the perfect role that would help you shine in front of casting directors? A role that you could totally nail right when it counts? Are you tired of reading through recycled scenes from old shows that are no longer relevant to you? Or spending hours in The Drama Book Shop reading through mediocre plays just to get that one good scene? Good news! We’re going to change it up. I am introducing a totally new concept to our industry: Custom sides!!!
Imagine if you had your own personal screenwriter to write a scene for you. Wouldn’t that be cool? Now you do. And it’s me. Here’s how it works: You book an appointment with me. Once you’re scheduled in, you send me all your marketing materials. I want to see your website, your headshots, your reel. I’ll review everything and then we’ll have a 30 minute skype session and we’ll discuss your type, your dream role, what you want to work on, what you need to work on, or what you want to showcase. (Yes, we know they can be different!) You can tell me exactly what kind of role you want, or you can let me use my writing/directing experience to come up with something on my own. You can order a drama or a comedy or let me decide how I think you’d shine brightest. If you’ve had a consultation with Jen, you can send me the type she thinks you should use to market yourself and I will help you get there. I can write what you want, what you need, what you wish you had. That’s all up to you.
After our session, I’ll write a 2-3-page scene that will help bring out the best in you. You will have the first draft of the sides one week later. I will email them to you. You’ll have as much time as you’d like to read through the scene, and then we will set up a second thirty minute skype session to read the scene together. You can ask any questions you want and I’ll make necessary tweaks and adjustments so that the scene and the role work perfectly for you. Then, and this is where it gets really cool, you can hire Dani Baum over at 660 Studios to shoot an exclusive Immersion Submission Video as if you were submitting a self tape for an audition. You can add the submission video to your Immersion Profile for casting directors and other industry to see your work. You can also add it to your Actors Access Profile, and your reel. Now industry will have the opportunity to see you perform in exactly the role you wish they could. As an actor myself, I know this is a dream. You are also welcome to look through my films for the 72-hour short film challenge (Play it Straight, Dead Drunk, Sasha, Drumpf) and see if you identify with a character from those films. If you do, we can take that character and create a new scene, or you can use the exact sides from the scene.
All the traditional publishing rules apply: Just like any other published works that are used for sides, my company, Main Sequence Entertainment, will retain the intellectual property rights to the work. You will not be able to film the scene from the sides or take the character and use it for your next film. You can only film it with a reader (who is off camera). Treat this the way you would any other published work. You are paying for my service, not the property. You will be able to use the sides for any casing director workshop, acting class, actors access, your reel, or immersion submission videos.
