Shara Ashley Zeiger has been involved with 10 of AGR's short film challenges. She's acted, written and produced many times within the challenge and has sat on the voter committee for The Best Ofs. She's produced outside of AGR in theatre and film with her company The Platform Group for 7 years, and has been a teaching artist for over 10 years. The short film challenge workshop will touch on script structure and tips on crafting your script for the challenge, budgets and how to work within small budgets, organization, pitfalls and more. If you always wanted to make your own short film within the AGR short film challenge or outside, this class is for you! You don't need a millionaire to make your own work. Let me teach you how.

Unless otherwise noted, if you cancel within 7 days of the class, event, or intensive due to sickness or industry related work, we require a doctor's note or proof of work in order to issue a credit.
Cancellations within 24 business hours of the class, event, or intensive and/or no-shows will NOT be credited under any circumstance. For example, if your class is on Sunday, you must cancel before the end of business on Friday.
SHARA ASHLEY ZEIGER is an actor/writer/producer. She is Artistic Director of The Platform Group that produced Savage in Limbo (Off-Broadway), and Roughly Speaking (which she also wrote), a play with rap based on interviews with the NYC Homeless. It was named one of the top 6 shows to see after the election (Broadwaybox) and one of the top 6 shows to see with a limited run (Playbill). She's produced many projects and teaches a class on how to produce your own work. For AGR's Short Film Challenge, Shara wrote "The Tupperware Party" (produced by Orange is the New Black's Mirriam Morales), wrote and associate produced "Faustess"(The Grove Film Festival 2017, Lovecraft series, AGR's Best Of), Executive produced "The Red Lotus" (AGR's Best Of), and recently Executive Produced "Joe." In addition to working as an actor in 10 AGR short challenge films, Shara’s done projects with ABC, MTV, VH1, Spike TV, National Geographic, CollegeHumor, and many festival running films that went to TriBeCa, Cannes, Claremont-Ferrand, Big Apple Film Festival and more. Shara devises new plays with students in the NYC schools, is a reader for The National Playwrights Conference, sits on the board for the Educational Theatre Association, and was recently on the AGR Best Of Short Film Challenge voting committee. Shara is alum of Ithaca College, The National Theater Institute, UCB, and is a proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, and The Dramatists Guild
