Week 1: Larger Co-Star/Small Guest Star Roles
Natalie goes in depth about her audition technique approach utilizing what she has learned in her 25 years of experience, and the recent technological changes in the industry that impacts both sides of the audition process. She also gets into the details of understanding the intention of the “audition scene”. By breaking down the beats of the scenes and showing some of the “tricks” that can make your audition different, she'll show you how to stand out when executives (Producers, Directors, Studio & Network execs) review them.
Week 2: Guest Star Roles
Starting with a review of the basics from Week 1, Natalie then talks about the Casting Director approach to choosing which actors come in. This includes how CD's use Breakdown Services and the overall process used to better understand the Casting Director's experience. In addition, Natalie goes into the do's and don’ts for a reel, what they should be, the importance of them, and a discussion about websites to make you the best "digital actor" possible. Natalie will also talk about how to learn your bad habits on camera, and share some tricks to break those habits.
Week 3: Series Regular Roles
The culmination of the previous two weeks, Natalie goes over Series Regular material and what the differences are in approaching them vs Guest Star material and how to find the arc in the scenes as well as the approach to the scene. This week also covers what it is like as an overall process: at the Producer level, Studio level and lastly Network level, and the traps of the “work session” before the Studio audition.
