Week One: Story vs Monologue
Bring in a 1-2 minute story from your life as well as a 1-2 minute prepared monologue. We will workshop each person's monologue until they are sharing it with as much personalization as the story from their own life.
Week Two: Cold Reads
Learn how cold reads can actually awaken the muscle of listening and allow for more spontaneity in your work.
Week Three: Thoughts Out Loud
We will explore how your own thoughts end up serving the story.
Week Four: Analysis vs Authenticity
You will learn how to incorporate specific "choices" about the character without eliminating your authenticity.
Week Five: Memorization
You will learn the most productive way to memorize your lines so that it doesn't get in the way of spontaneity.
Please bring a prepared monologue as well as a 4-5 page scene from TV, film or Theatre. *Do not prepare the scene in advance. Each week we will explore a different tool in how to bring your full self to your work.
You may cancel and receive credit up to 7 days before the start date of the class. However, within 7 days of the start date of the class, no credit will be issued. I sometimes say I'm going to write a review and never get to it. This time I'm not waiting. I am sitting on my train in Penn station currently as I just got out of my last class for Kaye Tuckerman's level 1 scene study class and I wanted to share with my fellow loungers how much I enjoyed this class. Kaye is an actress/teacher who is now teaching Sarah Baskins level 1 scene study class. The atmosphere created for our 5 week class was incredible and I believe it is the energy that Kaye brought each and every week. She made our class feel welcome, engaged, vulnerable, challenged, and so much more. Kaye's class on our first week went well over our scheduled time. It seemed as if she wanted to teach the whole day. She was so excited to work with us, to get to know who we are and where we are at in our careers. Over our five weeks we explored tools to bring more authenticity to our scenes. We explored memorization exercises, cold read techniques, and amazing warm up exercises to get us feeling great and present. She even emailed us some really cool homework to explore throughout the week before our next class. There was so much more too. Very hard to sum up in one review. As an actor who takes a lot of classes and having an eagerness to always learn I would recommend this class to students that are just starting out as well as veterans. You need to meet this incredible woman. On behalf of my entire class I can say we are all grateful to have worked with Kaye these past five weeks. She was always prepared and never hesitant to answer our questions even after class. I can't wait to hear other AGRtists talk about her in the upcoming months. Thanks again Kaye. Keep teaching. You're brilliant.

Good (day) everyone.. I have this feeling of sadness in my heart this afternoon. Today I completed my 5 week Scene Study Class with the remarkable Kaye Tuckerman. I was trying to get into this class for a long time. This incredible teacher opened up my mind, body and soul with her techniques of breaking down a scene like know one has ever done in my life. The family of fellow actors in my class were incredible. Kaye Tuckerman is a shining light for me and my career. Love you so much and thank you for everything.. I will never forget you... Everyone in AGR should make a point to invest in yourself and your career and take this course.

To those on the fence for the 5 Week Level One Scene Study Class with Kaye Tuckerman, please do yourself a favor and get off the fence and book this class RIGHT NOW! My fellow classmates Joe Lacerda and Norman Outlaw pretty much nailed it! Kaye is fantastic! Day 1 she went in... left no stone unturned... and throughout the 5 weeks she invested every minute and poured out such knowledge and wisdom to each one of us! She gave us weekly assignments, and on top of that she gave each one of us specific assignments to zone in on areas that would help us break out of our comfort zones.
This is not your typical 2 hr scene study class where once the clock is done the instructor is gone. NO! Absolutely not! Kaye Tuckerman is 100% invested in your growth and development as an actor! She is not going to brush through an assignment! You will walk out of the class saying/thinking, "I GOT THIS!!"
So, If you've never taken a class before or if you're a seasoned actor and want to refresh your skills then I can not stress it enough, you NEED to go to www.theactorsgreenroom.com and sign up... if it's book then get on that waiting list!
