Saturday: Bring Your Scene to Life
Often times casting directors will give you a second take with the note to "improvise or change it up." Being able to be in the moment in a scene is crucial. So how do you prepare but keep it fresh? What do you do when you're asked to improvise? Learn to execute the audition, take adjustments, and let real moments happen with improvisation.
Each student will be assigned a scene prior to the intensive to work on before the class starts. During the class, we will discuss how to use improv to color your material then each student will work in front of the camera using verbal and non-verbal improvisation to explore the scene and stand out with strong choices.
Sunday: Mastering Cold Read Auditions
In the business, you can get an audition at a moment's notice. Often times, you have less than a day to prepare sides. How do you keep your head out of the page, make strong choices and stand out with little time? In this one day intensive, learn the secrets to identify key components you come up against the “cold read.”
After a Q & A session, each actor will be assigned a scene in which they will be given the tools to enter the room with confidence and have real depth to their audition.
You may cancel and receive credit up to 7 days before the start date of the class. However, within 7 days of the start date of the class, no credit will be issued. Due to the nature and structure of this class, you will not receive credit or be able to make up any portion of this class for any reason if you cancel or miss a class after the start date.
Kim is an actress, writer, and acting coach. She is passionate about the craft and loves helping young actors discover their real potential. She also works behind the camera, directing and producing short film projects. Having worked with many actors and being one herself, she knows the value of networking and is a true believer of great benefits of The Actor's Green Room.
